Team Selections
After discussion with Earl Byrne and Sean Hughes it has been decided that their coaches policy on team selections, is that unless players are notified they will be in the same team for the next weeks game i.e. if you were in the 2nd.’s last week and you haven’t been contacted you’re in the 2nd.’s this week. The same will occur for juniors regarding State and Metro league teams.
Lost / misplaced Gear
Brad Calway’s baseball glove, & the missing camera have been found.
Masters Baseball (players over 38 years of age).
Masters Baseball started on Monday. If you are interested in playing, call Geoff Stafford 0419 358 308 or Andrew Hamilton 0417 346 040,.
2008/09 Teeball
The 2008 Teeball has started on Wednesday nights. We are looking for new or returning players, so if you know anyone who is interested in playing, have them turn up on Wednesday night at 5.30 or if they want information. Call Mark Riches 0417 537 621 / 97496821 or Geoff Stafford 0419 358 308. We have 2 age groups (under 7 & over 7).
The fee structure will be the same as last year. Teeball will cost $130 for new players ( players get a club cap, team tshirt, playing pants, baseball glove, back pack, drink bottle, a baseball, registration and insurance for the $130), returning players who don’t require the gear will pay $80.
Thursday Meal night
Oct. 23 There will be Pasta/ Beef casserole or Rissoles.
Oct 30, Flavoured parma (Italian, Hawaiian, Mexican.) or veal schnitzel
Tuesday & Wednesday night meal deals
Ted & Shane will be opening the canteen on Tuesday & Wednesday nights from this week. They will be offering meal deal specials of a Hotdog & a can of drink $3, chips & a can of drink $3, and another special deal to be announced.
New rule for base coaches
Base coaches in all senior & junior games must wear helmets. Adults (over 18) can wear a catcher’s skull cap; juniors (U18) must wear a 2 eared helmet.
Game results
All junior and senior game results will have to be sent in by SMS’, like last year by the home club. The SMS codes will be kept in a folder in the canteen.

- Little league players can only use 2& ¼ “ barrel bats.
- Blanks are “in” on all Sunday games, (a blank is an out in the batting order).
- Make sure base coaches wear helmets.
Claxton shield new format
The format has been changed to a South/East team vs. a North/West team playing games on Wednesday nights. Games start at 6.30pm,

Major League Baseball – ALCS /NLCS results & 2008 World series
There are 2 teams left in the “2008 World Series” race. A team from each of the American & the National leagues, which are the Phillies & Rays. There are no weekly match fees and there are major discounts for early fee payment as set out below:

Community shopping cards
United Fuel station community cards are available at the canteen for club or family members. These cards give the baseball club, 1 cent per litre of fuel purchased. For more information see Steve Knight.
Club uniform
Club uniforms (club caps, t-shirts, training tops, & jackets) can be purchased at the club rooms on Tuesday & Thursday training nights. See Steve Knight, or Steve Smith.
Pants and senior playing tops are purchased from K2 sports. (see Steve Smith for vacant numbers). Please note there is a 2 week period for delivery of the tops.
